Berufung von Prof. Dr. Stefan Voigt an das Institut für Recht und Ökonomik
Der international anerkannte Ökonom Prof. Dr. Stefan Voigt ist neuer Co-Direktor am Institut für Recht und Ökonomik der Universität Hamburg. Er tritt die Nachfolge von Prof. Dr. Hans-Bernd Schäfer an, der im September 2008 emeritierte.
Seine wissenschaftlichen Schwerpunkte liegen in der Neuen Institutionenökonomik, der Konstitutionenökonomik und der Analyse ökonomischer Konsequenzen von Justizstrukturen. Er ist Verfasser eines erfolgreichen Lehrbuchs der Institutionenökonomik und Vorstandsmitglied der European Public Choice Society.
Von Oktober 2006 bis September 2009 war Stefan Voigt Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Ordnungsökonomik und internationale Wirtschaftsbeziehungen an der Philipps-Universität Marburg. Davor war er Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Allgemeine Wirtschaftspolitik an der Universität Kassel.
Voigt ist Träger des Herbert-Quandt-Förderpreises 1999, des Habilitationspreises der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena für die beste Habilitation in den Jahren 1997 und 1998 und des Walter-Eucken-Preises der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität 1994 für hervorragende Leistungen auf dem Gebiet der Ordnungstheorie und -politik. Unter anderem ist er Mitglied des Editorial Boards von Public Choice und von Constitutional Political Economy.

The internationally renowned economist Prof. Dr. Stefan Voigt is the new Co-Director at the Institute of Law and Economics. Filling the position vacated by Prof. Dr. Hans-Bernd Schäfer upon his 2008 transition to Director Emeritus, Prof. Voigt will continue to advance the Institute's focus in the fields of institutional economics as well as the economic analysis of the law.
Previously Prof. Dr. Stefan Voigt held professorships at the Universities of Marburg (2006-2009) and Kassel (2002-2006) before assuming his new position in Hamburg. In Marburg he also served as Director of the Marburg Center for International Economics (MACIE).
